Aion 2 Genus Insight Guide from IGGM Helps You Get the Best Stats without Wasting Resources

Published:

In Aion 2, Genus Insight is a character progression system tied to the pet system. By collecting and developing pets, you can gain additional combat stats for your character.

This is a major progression system, and IGGM will explain the best attributes for each slot, which stats to keep early on, and when to start pursuing endgame rolls. This will help you grow stronger without wasting Soul Crystals or Kina.

Don’t Lock Attributes Too Early

Do not lock any attributes until you have reached at least level 9 with 50% progress. Whenever you upgrade a board, all its attributes change. Although you can lock individual attributes, the more you lock, the more Kina and Soul Crystals each roll will consume.

Better attributes also become easier to roll once you reach level 10. Unless you are among the few players who know exactly what they want, you should avoid locking attributes before level 10. If you are unsure, simply level up your Insight boards to level 10 first.

Presets

You should upgrade every board to level 10 first, then create a good but imperfect first preset focused exclusively on offensive attributes. This preset can include some Unique-tier attributes.

Once you have completed the first preset across all five boards, you can start working on a second preset and fully optimize it. Chasing perfect Heroic-tier attributes while balancing offensive and defensive stats from the beginning will cost you a significant amount of combat power for a long time.

Rolling Order

There is a specific order you should follow when rolling attributes. Do not simply open Auto Analysis, lock all the attributes you want across the nine slots, and roll repeatedly, as the cost increases with the number of locked attributes. You can buy Aion 2 Kina to cover the costs of late-game rolls.

The structure of all five boards is largely similar. Slots 1 and 5 are offensive slots; Slots 3, 6, and 9 focus on Accuracy and Critical Hit; Slots 2 and 8 are purely defensive; and Slot 7 leans toward defense but also offers some offensive attributes.

Slot 4 is the unique core slot on each board and is usually the most valuable. Apart from Slot 4, the other eight slots follow largely the same structure across all five boards.

When rolling attributes, always start with Slot 4. Its attributes are extremely valuable, and a single Slot 4 attribute can practically determine the value of an entire board. After that, roll for other offensive and Accuracy attributes, leaving defensive stats for your second preset.

Best Attributes for Each Slot

Aion 2 Best Attributes for Each Slot

Slots 1 and 5

These two slots can roll attributes such as Attack Bonus, Max Attack, Critical Attack, Front Attack, Back Attack, PVE Attack, Boss Attack, and Penetration.

In previous versions, PVE Attack, Back Attack, and Boss Attack were more valuable priorities. This is because the current version has removed several percentage-based multipliers that previously affected Attack Bonus and Max Attack.

For Aion 2 Assassins, who frequently attack from behind, you can be more flexible with your first board and accept all five offensive attribute types. Other classes should prioritize the four main types of offensive attributes.

Slots 3, 6, and 9

These slots can roll attributes such as Block, Evasion, Accuracy Bonus, PVE Accuracy, and Critical Hit.

In the current version, Accuracy takes priority over Critical Hit. This is because the critical rate cap has been reduced from 80% to 50%, while mechanics such as Boss Critical Resistance have not undergone similarly significant changes. As a result, most players can still reach the critical hit threshold in many situations.

Slot 7

Slot 7 leans toward defense but also offers offensive attributes such as PVE Attack and Accuracy Bonus. For your first preset, you can focus entirely on offense, prioritizing Accuracy Bonus and Critical Hit while aiming for Heroic-tier attributes whenever possible.

For a fully optimized preset later on, you can also consider defensive attributes such as PVE Damage Tolerance. However, there is no need to include them in your first preset.

Slot 4

Slot 4 varies the most between boards and is also the most valuable slot. Prioritize spending your Aion 2 Kinah for sale and Soul Crystals here before working on the other slots.

Cogni

The main attributes to look for are Critical Damage Boost, Damage Boost, and PVE Damage Boost.

PVE Damage Boost is generally the best option. However, a high-value Damage Boost roll is also excellent because Damage Boost and PVE Damage Boost provide equivalent value in PVE, while Damage Boost is also useful in PVP.

Fera

PVE Damage Boost is theoretically the best option, but a high-value Damage Boost or Weapon Damage Boost roll is also very good.

Weapon Damage Boost primarily multiplies Equipment Attack. It belongs to a different multiplier category from Damage Boost and PVE Damage Boost, so it is less affected by diminishing returns. However, it does not affect other sources of attack, such as the attack stats granted by Genus Insight.

Natura

Here, you should only aim for PVE Damage Boost. Multi-hit Chance and Perfect Chance may look appealing, but they fall far behind PVE Damage Boost in value and are essentially bait attributes.

Varian

Slot 4 offers PVE Damage Boost, Back Attack Damage Boost, and Front Attack Damage Boost.

If you play a positional class, such as a Templar who consistently attacks from the front or an Assassin who frequently attacks from behind, prioritize the corresponding attribute.

If you play a ranged class such as a Sorcerer or Spiritmaster and do not want to be restricted by positioning, simply choose PVE Damage Boost.

Special

Most classes should aim for Double Chance. It belongs to an independent multiplier category and can deal double damage, making it an extremely powerful attribute.

Positional classes can also use a high-value Front Attack Damage Boost or Back Attack Damage Boost roll, but Double Chance is generally still the preferred option. Do not force yourself into a positional playstyle just to take advantage of a single attribute.

These are Aion 2 Genus Insight attribute recommendations from IGGM. Following this approach will help you gain combat power more efficiently while keeping costs under control and leaving room for further optimization later on.
